OPEN CALL ISSUE 01 INNER CHILD

 

 

I'm opening the doors on the very first issue of Eliarti Studio, and I want to build it with you.

Issue 01 is called Inner Child.

Somewhere between growing up and keeping up, we lost the thing that came so naturally as kids, being satisfied by almost nothing. Now we're always hungry, chasing more, more, more, and it never quite fills us the way those small, simple things once did.

This issue is my attempt to go back and find that again. To collect the moments, faces, and objects that remind us what real satisfaction looked like before we were sold a version of it. A cup of coffee made slowly. A conversation that goes nowhere and everywhere. The quiet after finishing something with your hands. The kind of contentment that didn't need to be earned or bought.

I want to explore what our inner child actually needed, and how we can feed that hunger with something real again, instead of more.

Photographers & Stylists

I'm looking for photographers and stylists who work with intention, documentary, editorial, or somewhere in between. Think playful, whimsical visual storytelling: adults in imaginative, textured costumes that evoke childhood without literally recreating it. Think dress-up, folklore, oversized textures, handmade pieces,  a sense of wonder built through wardrobe and set.

I'm looking for a small group of photographers and stylists for this first issue.

Selected photographers will have:

• A curated series featured within the issue
• A short interview alongside the work

Submissions can include:

• Editorial shoots built around the theme
• Photo essays or series
• Standalone images that speak to Inner Child

Illustrators & Artists

I'd love whimsical illustration work for this issue, anything that captures wonder, imagination, or nostalgia visually. I'm also looking for artists and makers who work with their hands and hold real craftsmanship close; woodwork, textiles, ceramics, anything slow and tactile. If your process itself says something about valuing simplicity, I want to feature it.

 

Game Designers

I'm looking for someone playful to design a simple game or activity for the issue itself , something readers can actually play with, cut out, or try. Think the games we made up as kids, reimagined for the page.

Food & Recipes

I want to feature dishes that carry real time and care in them, recipes that can't be rushed, made with attention rather than convenience. If you cook or style food this way, I'd love to include it, alongside photography of the process or the result.

DIYs

I'm looking for artists who can create an original DIY for the issue — something readers can make themselves, in the spirit of craftsmanship and simplicity rather than consumption.

Writers & Poets

I'm looking for short prose and poetry that feels honest. Think:

• A childhood memory of real, unfiltered contentment
• The difference between wanting and needing
• Small rituals — the ones nobody applauds
• What it feels like to stop consuming and start noticing
• The moment you realized you'd left something simple behind

Prose should stay short, a page or two is plenty. Poetry can be as short or long as it needs to be. I'm drawn to work that feels tactile, specific, and a little unfinished, not a lesson, just a moment.

 

Anything Else

If you have something that doesn't fit neatly into the categories above — an essay, an object study, a format I haven't thought of — send it anyway. This magazine is meant to grow through what people bring to it, not just what I planned for it.
